Read any eBooks on business policy management lately?
If the answer is no, you should consider checking out the product of founder, chairman and chief innovation officer Jan Baan of Cordys. His new eBook, “Business Operations Improvement – The New Paradigm in Enterprise IT,” enlightens readers as to the benefits of implementing BPM (business process management) strategies.
According to Baan, “This book tells you the story of my life as an entrepreneur. It’s about my successes and my mistakes, since both have been essential for the road that eventually has lead to a new episode: Cordys.”
And Baan’s life experiences have been numerous. After founding Baan Company and becoming one of the three biggest ERP bendors (alongside SAP and Oracle (News - Alert)), Jan Baan helped built Cordys – a company offering different business process management solutions to today’s Enterprise IT companies.
This makes him an expert on BPM implementation.
So, what kind of insight and device does Baan offer in his book?
For one thing he quotes real world examples from valuable resources that have come before. One such example is in the quoting of famed entrepreneur Walt Disney (News - Alert).
According to the book, “As Walt Disney once said, objecting to a proposed sequel to his ‘Three Little Pigs’ cartoon, ‘You can’t top pigs with pigs.’ In the world of business, stacking a thousand doghouses, one atop the other, to build a skyscraper is a great proposition for doghouse vendors, but not for future occupants. Skyscrapers need an architecture of their own – their own paradigm, not a sequel to the doghouse paradigm.”
It’s a good principal and one that should apply to business process management choices.
You don’t necessarily need to build upon a poorly performing legacy system – you can start from the beginning and choose software that can streamline all of your processes, making them more efficient and cost effective.
