In an effort to expand its social listening and intelligence-based technologies into social commerce, Converseon, a social media organization, has announced the acquisition of Social Graphiti, a social commerce analytics and marketing technology platform. As part of the agreement, founder of Social Graphiti founder, Vidar Brekke, is now Chief Product Officer at Converseon.
Social Graphiti will be merged with Converseon’s Conversation Miner, a social intelligence and analytics platform, bringing together strong entities that deal with industry leading social intelligence as well as social commerce applications.
In a release, Rob Key, CEO of Converseon, said, “Our Conversation Mining technology provides a powerful platform for the development of not just social commerce applications, but also R & D applications, social business management, and more. This acquisition accelerates our strategy of offering our clients an innovative portfolio of ‘socially intelligent’ enterprise applications that help brands truly harness the power of social media across multiple uses.”
Based on the “likes” or such agreeable sentiments expressed online, Social Graphiti constantly targets a group of consumers with products and services to match their interests.
“Integrating social intelligence with the Social Graphiti platform will help brands transition from monitoring social conversations to drive social transactions. Vidar brings that rare combination of technical and business knowledge to help us design and deploy the next generation of social applications built on top of our social intelligence technologies,” Key added.
While at Social Graphiti, Vidar built a career in developing and implementing digitized marketing strategies for Fortune 500 companies. These included the introduction of a range of smart social applications like the “Open Audience (News - Alert) Manager,” which even ended up a finalist in Digiday’s 2010 “Best Social Media Platform Innovation” segment.
Converseon’s Conversation Miner is a unique combination of automated as well as human-based analysis. It is a social listening solutions option that is increasingly being used by a wide range of top brands to assist in mapping, monitoring as well as understanding the nuances of social media conversation. Conversation Miner can be customized to suit the needs of the enterprise. This can be in languages, regions as well as the way it is used in the organization.
