Business Library for Social Media Launched by Sysomos

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

An online content resource and business library has been introduced by Sysomos, allowing the power of social media and social media monitoring to be leveraged by professionals in many disciplines. White papers, reports and webinars can now be accessed via the Sysomos business library for social media, as well as use case examples and application ideas. Developers of products, customer service and sales professionals will be also able to access other unique content through this library.

According to TechCrunch, a billion tweets are collectively sent by Twitter (News - Alert) users each week, and every day, on average, 460,000 new Twitter accounts are also created. There are also more than 500-million active users for Facebook. The value of listening to and engaging in the social stream is now being recognized by professionals of every discipline after absorbing these numbers. The communications or customer service teams within an organization usually own the channel for social media. Social media engagement needs to become a shared responsibility across an organization as participation in social networks increases. Opportunities for brand awareness, sales and reputation management are also increasing.

Some of the top experts on social media, customer service, sales, product development and digital communications have provided inputs for the library. The categories defined within the library include Campaign Promotion and Management, Customer Service, Product and Offer Development, Sales, and Agency Resources.

In a release, Michael Nowlan, President and CEO of Marketwire, said, "The Sysomos business library for social media is an important component of Marketwire's continuous commitment of enabling individuals and organizations to realize the value of our solutions. The social media library contains information assets to fulfill the complete spectrum for using social media insights throughout the entire enterprise, including product development, sales and customer service."

According to Paolina Milana, EVP of Global Marketing at Marketwire, businesses will be able to appreciate the potential of social media with social media monitoring. The resources necessary to achieve business objectives beyond basic engagement online are contained by the business library for social media.
