Saying its latest move is part of an aggressive growth strategy, IQmetrix today announced that it’s acquiring Work Software Systems, creator of WorkWireless.

 

The acquisition of its largest competitor, iQmetrix (News - Alert) officials say, will “entrench” its leadership. “We have always had great respect for WorkWireless as one of our strongest competitors. Together we will build on our combined experience to redefine wireless retail,” says Chris Krywulak (News - Alert), president and chief executive officer of iQmetrix.

 

Officials of both firms say the acquisition will allow for “increased resources for innovation, superior support and responsiveness to business needs.” IQmetrix officials say they will begin integrating the two companies’ operations promptly to ensure “a smooth transition.”

Bill May, founder of Work Software Systems, will be joining the iQmetrix executive team as president of iQmetrix USA. The current iQmetrix executive team will remain.

Last November, IQmetrix announced that its RetailiQ product would be accessible to clients on their BlackBerry (News - Alert) smartphones.

 

The new application, PocketiQ, gives users the ability to access and interact with company performance metrics while on the go, iQmetrix officials say.

 

Mobile sales and service teams will have access to detailed customer profiles, service requests and product information for sales and service calls. Front line staff will have the ability to look up customer, product and inventory information without having to occupy a POS terminal.

 

“I’ve always been a big fan of data. As I have always told my managers, ‘just give me the numbers’. Well now iQmetrix is going to give me the numbers in real time on my BlackBerry,” says Matt Fidiam (News - Alert), president of Parrot Cellular.
