Voice-to-screen messaging solutions provider SpinVox (News - Alert) recently launched a BlackBerry plug-in, bringing e-mail delivery and voicemail configuration to BlackBerry users.

 

With the new SpinVox plug-in, any and all voicemail messages can be converted to text and delivered as an e-mail directly to the BlackBerry (News - Alert) device. In this way, users can identify the caller and read the message, and then reply with a single click. The conversion from voicemail into text is powered by the SpinVox Voice Message Conversion System (VMCS).

The SpinVox BlackBerry plug-in ensures that the inbound caller’s number is linked with the user’s address book, thus displaying the caller’s name, giving the user the ability to reply directly by email rather than having to place a call or send an SMS.

 

SpinVox works with all contract mobile phones supporting “call divert.” Users of Pay As You Go programs may need to contact their network operator/carrier to check if their programs call diverts. SpinVox can be used on a fixed line or VoIP phone by diverting the phone manually to the SpinVox Voicemail number.

 

RIM executives had recently tried out the SpinVox Voicemail product on their personal BlackBerry phones prior to the launch and approved the product based on their experience of the benefits of receiving their voice messages converted to e-mail.

 

Users of the new solution across the world will be able to access the SpinVox service in English, Spanish, French, and German. New customers can download the software application from the corporate website for a charge of GBP 5.00 per year.

 

The Web site includes details on how to get set up and offers troubleshooting advice in the form of FAQs. International travelers also benefit from the service since they do not need to pay for an international call to simply retrieve their voicemail from a foreign country.
