BillSoft, a company offering transaction-based taxation, has announced its partnership with vCom, a provider of Enterprise Telecom Expense Management.
vCom will use BillSoft's (News - Alert) tax and compliance services on a local, regional, state and federal filing level. The company is expected to work directly with BillSoft to file hundreds of monthly telecommunications tax returns.
"I am confident every telecom transaction processed on a customer's bill is taxed appropriately, to the proper jurisdiction and at the applicable tax rate, all the way down to a specific address location," said Jenna Brown, director of regulatory affairs at vCom.
From tax calculations to compliance support, BillSoft plans to provide vCom with assurance that its tax returns are prepared accurately and timely. BillSoft's officials said that their continued focus on improvement initiatives, like the recent data certification status with the Florida Department of Revenue, is another advantage.
"We are pleased to partner with a company like vCom and to assist telecom firms in managing their expenses in this challenging economic environment," said Vicki Klein (News - Alert), president at BillSoft.
Additionally, vCom will leverage BillSoft's expertise in legal issues related to telecommunications.
"One of the distinctive qualities about BillSoft is that they have legal services I can utilize when I have questions," Brown said, adding that they've fully staffed with knowledgeable compliance analysts and technical personnel who stand ready to assist the company.
BillSoft specializes in enhancing billing systems and service bureau products. The company's flagship product, EZTax, is a comprehensive transaction tax package available.
Earlier this year in April, LifeLock (News - Alert), a company offering proactive identity theft protection, awarded a contract to BillSoft to process sales and use tax for LifeLock.
