Redworks, a diversified telephony, Internet and data services provider based in the Netherlands has selected billing provider PortaOne's (News - Alert) PortaSwitch as its main telecommunications services and subscriber management platform.

Under the agreement between the two companies, PortaSwitch will be powering Redworks' integrated VoIP and hosted IP PBX (News - Alert) services for small to medium businesses, or "SMBs," as well as their IP payment solutions for retail businesses.

PortaSwitch is a class five-level product than can manage a diverse digital services company's full billing and call control functions such as billing and service provisioning, monitoring, reporting and advanced call features. The product has Class 4 and 5 SIP softswitch, real-time billing system, SIP call control, IP Centrex and hosted IP PBX, unified messages, IVRs, conferencing, callback management, application servers delivering joint VoIP billing and service provisioning, and more.

PortaSwitch was selected by Redworks because of its experiences with the system via a third-party telecom systems infrastructure provider. Leslie Herps, the director at Redworks, said that they are using a hosted partition of PortaSwitch and were amazed by its reliability and comprehensive feature set. PortaSwitch can manage the complicated routing Redworks' requires to end calls based on ASR, cost or other reasons. Its accessibility and portability suits the various needs of Redworks' retail and business customers.

According to Roman Khalenkov, the sales and marketing director for PortaOne, PortaSwitch will allow Redworks to keep competing in the fast changing Dutch telecommunications marketplace.
