Allot Communications, an innovator in IP service optimization and revenue generation solutions based on deep packet inspection (DPI), today revealed it has added a new Tier-1 mobile customer.
This is a milestone for the company, as it represents the fifth Tier-1 mobile operator during 2008 that selected the Allot (News - Alert) Service Gateway. The mobile operator, which currently provides service to over 60 million subscribers, chose Allot to drive the growth of a new mobile broadband model.
By teaming up with Allot, the operator will be able to control congestion and bring tiered and quota-based services to the market for broadband subscribers.
"This most recent win further strengthens Allot's leadership position in the rapidly growing mobile broadband sector," stated Rami Hadar (News - Alert), CEO and president, Allot.
"It is a further testament to our success in providing the scalable and robust solutions required by the top end of the mobile operator market,” Hadar added.
As part of the initial agreement, the mobile operator will gain the Allot Service Gateway (News - Alert) (SG) Omega and the Subscriber Management Platform (SMP). With this complete solution, the operator will be able to generate new revenues and increase efficiency and ROI by developing tiered service plans, and offer subscribers personalized services.
The operator is able to better control bandwidth by monitoring real-time subscriber usage and putting in place consumption-based billing models or quota thresholds.
Allot will reveal its fourth quarter and full year 2008 financial results in a conference call held on Thursday, February 12, 2009, at 8:30 a.m. EST, 3:30 p.m. Israel time.
For the third quarter of 2008, Allot reported record revenues of $9.8 million, a three percent increase over the second quarter of 2008, and an astonishing 40 percent increase over the same period in 2007.
“As mobile data traffic continues to increase, our customers are seeking ways to optimize and monetize their costly infrastructure, and Allot's solutions are ideally designed to enable them to meet these goals,” Hadar explained.
Allot Communications’ intelligent IP service optimization solutions are relied upon by DSL, wireless and mobile broadband carriers, service providers, and enterprises.
The company’s complete portfolio of hardware platforms and software applications utilizes deep packet inspection (DPI) technology to transform broadband pipes into smart networks that can rapidly and efficiently deploy value added Internet services.
Allot's scalable, carrier-grade solutions provide the visibility, security, application control and subscriber management that are vital to managing Internet service delivery, ensuring quality of experience (QoE), containing operating costs, and maximizing revenue in broadband networks.
