Auto Dialer Technology Increases Productivity, Maximizes Operations and Even Saves Lives

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

In a matter of life or death, an inability to reach a phone should not make a difference in whether or not an individual can receive help. In a recent Kitsap Sun report, Fire District 2 shares the benefits of the Tele-Emergency Auto Dialer and how it enables the organization to maximize operations and save lives.

This prevention item is used much like other commercially sold “Life Alert” or “Life Line” services, only is offered at a lower price point and delivers more benefit. If an individual cannot get to the phone during an emergency, they simply press the emergency button on the lanyard around their neck.

This device takes advantage of auto dialing technology to be activated with the push of a button. A prerecorded message provides name, address and medical history over the phone line to a dispatch center. As a result, Fire District 2 crews are then dispatched and arrive on the scene.

For a one-time cost of $75 and no monthly fee for service, the auto dialer works as a life-saving device. Fire District 2 provides installation and continuous support for the device. When compared with the Life Alert system, the Auto Dialer can deliver the necessary service and produce a ROI within three months.

Fire District 2 professionals go directly to their clients to teach them how to use the device and its auto dialing capabilities. The organization is proud of this service as it ensures they can always reach their clients. In addition to the life-saving benefits of the auto dialer, it can also be a money saver.

Other benefits of the auto dialer include the phone number that is used in an emergency. An auto dialer alert for help goes directly to the Fire District 2 dispatch center in Shelton instead of a third-party call center – as is often the case of a commercial service. The auto dialer reduces response time and ensures the accuracy of critical information.

Long-distance phone service is necessary to make the auto dialer work and can be added to current phone service for a nominal fee. The auto dialer can also work for those using Internet phone services such as VoIP.

Much like the auto dialer helps to save lives, auto dialing technology fits in the corporate environment to help drive efficiency and productivity. An inability to access a phone is generally not an issue in this environment, but wasted time dialing numbers that may or may not deliver the right contact can impact productivity.

With auto dialing technology, a software solution takes care of the mundane so valuable employees can take care of pressing issues that drive revenue and improve the customer experience.
