CallFire Extends Amazon Kindle Contest Deadline Until Today

By Kelly McGuire, TMCnet Editor

For developers who have yet to turn in the dating application for the Amazon Kindle contest, California-based open-source VoIP consultancy company CallFire.com has announced a deadline extension for interested parties.

According to CallFire officials, the deadline is now pushed from Nov. 11 to Nov. 16. So, for all those who thought the deadline had passed, hurry up to submit your application – a dating application using any of CallFire’s application programming interfaces, or “APIs,” – to the CallFire application site

When TJ Thinakaran, vice president of Business Development, at CallFire, discussed the contest, he said that the dating application could be as simple or complex as a participant wants to make it.

As long as any of CallFire’s APIs are used, it can be as simple as creating a Web site, taking telephone numbers and making a user friendly application.

Thinakaran also said that all forms of communication can be used with the company’s API to connect individuals on the social landscape. From telephone to Google (News - Alert) Voice to instant messages and chat, the possibilities of connecting people with CalLFire’s systems are endless.

“For example, if you want to get to people without revealing their identity, all your website would have to do is make these two calls, and before you know it, two possible love birds may be talking the night away,” Thinakaran said previously.

The extended deadline also comes at an opportune time for individuals who are looking to find new ways to make their holidays more enjoyable this year, given the current economy. And, for the lucky winner, someone may just have an Amazon Kindle all wrapped up as a technology savvy present for the holidays.
