CallFire: Driving Substantial Growth in an Exciting Market

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

There is an assumption that all funding should be focused on startups and not on old, floundering enterprises. In fact, this assumption was highlighted in a recent CallFire blog post. The writer cited a Thomas Friedman column in which he argued this exact point; he claimed startups are America’s future.

Friedman also quoted Robert Litan of the Kauffman Foundation, who said that between 1980 and 2005 nearly all net new jobs created in the U.S. were created by firms that were five years old or less. When looking at the big picture, that is roughly 40 million jobs. It also suggests that established firms created no new net jobs during that time period.

This information shared by the Kauffman Foundation indicates there is plenty of room for smart, innovative risk-takers in the market. The latest IT Employment Index from IT trade group TechServe Alliance suggests there were more than 10,000 new IT jobs in the month of October, reaching a total of 3,903,000. This represents a 2.2 percent gain from the previous year.

CallFire was excited to focus on this trend simply because it serves as one of the startups contributing to job growth. The company has grown aggressively in a market that appears to be stagnant. In fact, CallFire has grown by 1076 percent between 2006 and 2009 and expanded its staff by nearly 30 percent in the last quarter alone. The company also has no intention of slowing down.

As much as CallFire is excited about its growth, the company is careful to not hire just anyone. Only the brightest talent will meet CallFire criteria. One shining star among the CallFire team is Marketing Director Kim Kohatsu. Her goal is to develop the CallFire brand into something meaningful and indispensable to its customers.

Kohatsu brings a strong background to her role with CallFire, having graduated as one of the top 12 Syracuse University Scholars with undergraduate degrees in Advertising, Political Science, and French. From there, she went on to receive a Master’s of Science in Communication from VCU Brandcenter, considered the leading advertising program in the nation.

Kohatsu has also won numerous regional, national, and even international advertising awards and has worked for such powerful players as the California Avocado Commission, AAA, the Hilton Family of Hotels, American Career College, Goodwill, Pioneer, Yamaha (News - Alert), TollFreeForwarding.com and many others.

CallFire is excited about Kohatsu and many others who are helping the company to grow quickly and become more profitable and successful than ever before.
