RadiSys' Ruparel Discusses RAPP Program
By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor
Chandresh Ruparel, the senior product line manager at RadiSys (News - Alert), a provider of hardware and software platforms for IP-based wireless, wireline and video networks, recently sat down with TMC's (News - Alert) Marisa Torrieri to share information on the RadiSys Alliance Partner Program, better known as RAPP.
"Our partners cover a broad range of specialties," Ruparel said, "and each partner brings their own expertise to the table. The partner program allows us to translate partners' expertise and industry experience into meaningful solutions and services for our customers."
He explained by giving an example: Combining the partners' technical proficiency with RadiSys' and working out a variety of integration issues up front "has allowed us to reduce time to market for our customers." In one such case, he added, they were able to help a customer go from the start of the project to field trials in just about twelve months - "which is a major improvement from typical 24 to 36 month development cycles for telecom solutions."
When asked if they were still accepting new partners, Ruparel said yes, they're still accepting new partners, "and will always be considering new partners." He noted that interested companies should visit their partners page for more information about the program and contact them.
"However," he said, "we are very selective in picking our partners. We need to feel confident that our customers will benefit from the partnership. If we see an opportunity to bring more value and choice to our customers, we will ask them to join RAPP."
