TimeSight Systems Picks NEI for Appliance Deployment

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

In a bid to improve video quality and eliminate gaps in coverage for its customers, TimeSight Systems, a provider of Video Lifecycle Management (VLM), has chosen NEI's appliance platform to deploy their TimeSight application.

With NEI's platform, TimeSight was able to improve quality and performance of surveillance systems while also dramatically reducing video storage requirements - all of which are necessary to survive in today's storage market.

ABI Research recently projected in their research report, “Video Surveillance Systems – Explosive Growth and New Market Opportunities,” that revenues from the growth of video surveillance systems will increase to $46 billion by 2013.

Not only has the need for improved video quality that is less grainy increased in demand, but also, in order for the market to grow, it is important that costs resulting from high-resolution, IP-based cameras be reduced.

With NEI’s expertise, TimeSight Systems was able to keep focus on their VLM applications while still meeting market needs.

Greg Shortell, CEO, NEI said, “We work hard to ensure that every detail, from concept and initial design to logistics and support, is addressed before production units are built and shipped. Our goal is to protect our customer’s brand at all times.”

TimeSight Systems notes that their new solution offers the image clarity and security needed today and with the solution they are able to save up to 90 percent of the cost of existing video recorder technologies.

“In today’s economic environment, businesses are looking for enterprise-class quality and reliability in a powerful, cost-effective turnkey solution. Combining the competitive hardware design from NEI with the incredible storage savings from our VLM software and video surveillance, users can now easily transition to higher resolution video with longer retention times,” said Charles Foley, TimeSight Systems chairman and CEO.

Last month, NEI made headlines with the announcement that pbxnsip (News - Alert) would make use of NEI's telephony appliances to support their VoIP-based communications systems. The appliance solution integrates pbxnsip's software-based IP-PBX (News - Alert) and will be fully supported by NEI.
