As the world of technology gets more complicated by the day, the number of security threats seems to be rising exponentially. Hackers are always in the headlines, breaking into seemingly unbreakable systems with devastating consequences. It’s enough to cause insomnia in even the most diligent CTOs.
So it might be a good idea to make time on your agenda next week to head to San Francisco and the RSA (News - Alert) Conference taking place at the Moscone Center. Scheduled from Monday through Thursday, April 20-24, the event “is helping drive the information security agenda worldwide with annual industry events in the U.S., Europe and Asia,” RSA notes on its conference site. “Throughout its history, RSA Conference has consistently attracted the world's best and brightest in the field, creating opportunities for conference attendees to learn about IT security's most important issues through first-hand interactions with peers, luminaries and emerging and established companies.”
One of this year’s featured presentations will be from UNICOM (News - Alert) Engineering, a leading provider of server-based application platforms and lifecycle support services for software developers and OEMs worldwide. UNICOM will present on its Trusted Server Initiative, and will also host some Technology Demos.
“UNICOM Engineering will exhibit server-based security appliances and provide one-on-one consultations with executives and subject-matter experts at the show,” the company said in a release. “In addition, UNICOM Engineering Chief Technologist and Vice President of Engineering Austin Hipes will present a briefing center session titled ‘Trusted Servers for a Mistrusted World.’”
Growing concerns over government and corporate hacking by malicious groups or foreign nations requires a new approach to server design in order to secure sensitive data, the company added. Starting from the foundation of sourcing trusted microprocessors and continuing through the secure integration of servers, the session will explore the new concepts that make up the Trusted Server initiative.
UNICOM will also host an Intel (News - Alert)-sponsored ice cream social featuring executives and technologists discussing the latest security features for server-based security appliances in the North Exhibit Hall Wednesday at noon.
In all, it’s a worthwhile event that will offer unique insights into today’s challenges, especially for those concerned about company security and how to better protect it.
