The Radisys Corporation is a company whose aim is to help communications and content providers, along with their strategic partners, to create new revenue streams while at the same time driving cost out of their services delivery infrastructure. Radisys’ services are designed to enable its customers to maximize, virtualize and monetize their networks.
Radisys is a gold-level member of Oracle (News - Alert) Partner Network (OPN) and earlier this week the company announced that it has been working hand in hand with Oracle in an effort to offer communications service providers (CSPs) a more wide-ranging, scalable, multi-service delivery solution for Voice over LTE (News - Alert) (VoLTE), WebRTC, and several other real-time services.
The Oracle Communications Converged Application Server is designed to provide a very scalable, highly available, performant server for deploying Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert) (SIP) applications. The Oracle Communications Converged Application Server architecture is simple to manage and easily adaptable to make use of available hardware.
According to Radisys, the Oracle Communications Converged Application Server has been certified with Radisys’ virtualized Media Resource Function (vMRF) and MPX-12000. The MPX-12000 is an advanced multimedia resource function (MRF) for LTE IMS, providing the scalable IP media processing required for VoLTE, HD audio and video and mobile value-added-services (VAS).
The goal of this partnership is that when the products are integrated they can offer application developers and service providers reduced time-to-market and lower development and deployment costs for multimedia services. These services include unified communications, WebRTC-enabled contact centers and many other media-rich services.
“Radisys is pleased to work with Oracle on the integration of our industry-leading MediaEngine product portfolio with the Oracle Communications Converged Application Server and WebRTC Session Controller platforms,” said Grant Henderson, Radisys’ VP of product management and marketing. “Last year, we announced Radisys’ WebConnect JAVA to ease integration with Java-based application server platforms. This was a crucial commitment to facilitate our work with Oracle, and allowed us to offer a comprehensive solution that enables mobile operators to develop innovative, differentiated VoLTE, WebRTC, and multimedia services faster.”
