eXo, the enterprise social platform company, has announced that Platform 4 is now available to independent software vendors that want to upgrade their own solutions. According to the company, administrators, developers and end users will find they can now deploy various projects with the eXo platform.
What makes it unique? eXo’s platform is the first cloud-ready, enterprise portal, and is a user-experience, platform-as-a-service (UXPaaS).
As part of an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partner program, the company says it also brings cloud, mobile and social collaboration to software vendors.
“Many companies … tell us they have demand for social collaboration features, but unfortunately, they do not offer these out of the box,” Oualid Chaker, eXo’s executive VP of Business, said in a statement. “I’m very glad we are now offering a solution to these concerns.”
The announcement comes as sector analysts predict more sales of social collaboration solutions. This means that software vendors need to update their offerings by adding social collaboration, which in turn gives customers added value. In addition, the company’s out-of-the-box features can be embedded in existing products.
eXo provides an enterprise social platform, and further provides cloud services, mobile apps, and on-premises solutions; developers get options to integrate those applications and services used in an enterprise.
In addition, eXo’s OEM partner programs allow for white-label offerings of the platform so it can be distributed under a company’s own brand. Another option is targeted to vendors that are in niche markets, and want to offer a new product by customization of the eXo platform. Still another option is using the eXo platform to add to existing products, and businesses will provide their own interfaces.
As an added plus, OEM partners get an unlimited number of tickets for support, as well as training, certification and consulting services.
eXo started in 2002 as an open-source project, and evolved into a company by 2003; one early customer was the U.S. Department of Defense. Having grown since then, eXo now has offices in San Francisco, France, Tunisia and Vietnam, and its partners are reaping significant benefits.
“Our commitment to our customers is to deliver innovative solutions that will grow with them,” Holly Holt, vice president of Product Management at WennSoft, said in a statement. “Our eXo partnership supports our ability to do so.”
