IASO Updates Online Backup Solution with Virtual Disaster Recovery

By Mandira Srivastava, TMCnet Contributor

IASO, part of the GFI Software family, has introduced the updated version of its IASO Online Backup solution.

IASO Online Backup is designed for security, speed and reliability.  It now includes virtual disaster recovery technology, enhanced data protection for virtual environments and native integration with ConnectWise (News - Alert) professional services automation (PSA) tools.

IASO Online Backup uses the Disk-to-Disk-to-Cloud (D2D2C) model to provide affordable, easy-to-use and efficient backup and recovery of critical digital assets across all main computing platforms. The newest version of IASO Online Backup includes expanded platform coverage and added support for Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8.1, Apple Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks and VMware vSphere 5.5.

Andy Langsam, EVP of sales and operations at GFI Software said in a statement, “Many companies are turning to the cloud for their backup and recovery needs because it offers reduced costs, ease of use and extreme scalability, IASO Online Backup builds upon these core benefits with unrivaled technology. With IASO, customers don't have to sacrifice performance and functionality for affordability and simplicity. They truly receive the best of both worlds.”

The latest version of the IASO Online Backup solution also includes new Virtual Disaster Recovery technology, allowing customers to recover failed Windows systems as a VMware ESXi 4.1 or VMware vSphere 5.x compatible virtual machine.

Thomas Campbell, product manager at Redstor Limited, an IASO partner, added, "IASO Online Backup's Virtual Disaster Recovery technology is a tremendous competitive differentiator. It expedites data recovery in the event of a system failure, and it's extremely flexible. Users can restore to a flat file, so they don't need a full VMware estate to benefit from this functionality. It has ability to perform a full system restoration process via a Virtual Machine Disk (VMDK) that automates disaster recovery.”
