Market analysis firm Current Analysis (News - Alert) has upgraded the rating of Aastra MX-ONE from “very threatening” to “very strong and highly scalable,” speaking volumes for the product’s status in the market for mid to large-scale enterprise communications platforms.
This is perhaps not without merit, as Aastra (News - Alert) MX-ONE is reported to be a true unified communications (UC) platform. The product is described as a full-featured communication server with a variety of telephony features being available on all types of mobile clients.
“We are delighted to receive such high praise for the Aastra MX-ONE. This independent feedback is consistent with previous high ratings by Current Analysis for the product,” observed Pierre-Alexandre Fuhrmann, vice president, Global Technology (News - Alert) & Development at Aastra.
The report singled out MX-ONE’s ability to “allow customers to deploy IP telephony with less server hardware.” By integrating voice, video and data with mobility capabilities, MX-ONE aims to enable users to communicate with anyone, anywhere, at any time, despite using different media, devices and modes of communication.
Also, the MX-ONE platform can be customized and complemented by Aastra’s portfolio of UC solutions, and is interoperable with leading vendors. Sold in over 130 countries, the company boasts that its product has helped transform organizations across the globe from “voice to multimedia communications across all devices.”
Aastra said that it strives to provide its customers with the best and most cost effective upgrade paths, pointing to its new licensing model. Instead of one license per device for items such as video and desk phones, customers can purchase one license that supports four end points. Thus, such recent enhancements have resulted in an increased rating by Current Analysis, and is no doubt welcome news for the company as it looks to cater to enterprises looking to enhance their communications platform.
