Sangoma Technologies (News - Alert) Corporation, a provider of IP Communications systems, has recently expanded its Lync Express series of all-in-one appliances for the deployment of Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync as a PBX replacement.
Microsoft Lync is an advanced business communications solution that combines several features such as instant messaging, voice over Internet protocol (VoIP), and video conferencing.
The new Lync Express 2.0 from Sangoma Technologies integrates the hardware and software elements necessary for the deployment of Microsoft Lync as a PBX (News - Alert) replacement or a wide range of other use cases including Survivable Branch Exchange, Office 365 telephony support, and legacy PBX integration.
The company's product portfolio enables the interworking of a wide variety of disparate TDM and IP networks, clouds, protocols, services, devices, and applications. Its products range from voice and data boards, transcoding and gateway software and standalone gateway appliances for SS7 and TDM-to-SIP, to wireless boards, multiplexers, Microsoft Lync gateways, and session border controllers.
The new product bridges any technology gap for enterprises and system integrators looking to deploy a comprehensive UC and PBX replacement solution combining the UC application platforms like Microsoft Lync and traditional Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) interworking infrastructure.
Lync Express 2.0 from Sangoma Technologies also incorporates a full-featured session border controller (SBC) for deployments using SIP trunks. The inclusion of a robust SBC within Lync Express further simplifies the use of combined SIP trunks and traditional PSTN connections to ensure communication resiliency and manage operational costs, said Mark Wagner, Sangoma’s vice president of carrier and UC sales.
Additionally, the solution provides the core capabilities required in any Lync deployment, and is available through Sangoma partners and select Microsoft Gold Partners. The solution incorporates the Microsoft Windows server, Microsoft Lync 2013 server, together with Sangoma’s SBC and VoIP gateway.
The rack-mountable unit is available in a variety of configurations to support PSTN connections, such as E1/T1/J1 compliant digital telephony spans, ISDN Basic Rate connections, and FXO or FXS line connections for any legacy emergency phone or fax requirements. Also, Lync Express is fully certified with Microsoft Lync 2013 and supporting services, and remains the only fully integrated Lync PBX replacement product in the market.
