Founded in 1997 and empowering software developers with the key tools needed to deploy their applications in the shortest period of time, in the most efficient manner and at the most cost-effective price, NEI (News - Alert) boasts many years of expertise in storage, security, enterprise and carrier communications.
Today, the company has revealed a major change—it will now be referred to as UNICOM (News - Alert) Engineering, Inc.
The name change may not be that surprising to some, since the appliance deployment expert is already a wholly owned subsidiary of UNICOM Global, a provider of application platforms, appliances and lifecycle deployment services for original equipment manufacturers (OEM). It was back in 2012 that NEI was officially acquired by UNICOM GLOBAL, and customers, technology partners and supply partners have since enjoyed lower costs, increased efficiency, and reductions to the time it takes to get solutions to market.
“UNICOM Engineering will maintain and broaden NEI’s successful track record cultivated as a trusted deployment partner to customers worldwide,” said Rusty Cone, senior vice president of UNICOM Engineering. “We continue to identify exciting opportunities to build on the company’s sterling reputation for customer service and innovation, while leveraging the impressive depth of technical talent possessed by the UNICOM Engineering team.”
This most recent update will enable each division of UNICOM Global to better represent the different capabilities they can bring to both their customer base and the market overall.
According to Jeff Hudgins (News - Alert), UNICOM Engineering’s vice president of Marketing, “UNICOM Engineering will leverage the technical acumen of its staff while utilizing the significant resources of UNICOM Global to provide software developers and OEMs an ideal blend of services to continue our legacy as one of the industry’s most trusted deployment partners.”
“The future is exciting, and we look forward to finding new ways to help our clients achieve their goals while furthering our legacy of appliance innovation,” he said.
NEI, now UNICOM Global, is a premier partner of DELL, in a strategic alliance that has proven to be extremely fruitful. In fact, the collaborative effort has led to the unveiling of NEBS Level-3 and ETSI (News - Alert)-certified PowerEdge R620t and R720t carrier-grade servers running on Intel Xeon processors. These robust products are touted with increasing data flows in communication systems, as well as supporting highly demanding control plane applications typically found within telecom platform deployment.
