Recently, Sangoma Technologies (News - Alert) Corporation introduced its new NetBorder Lync Express appliance, which will help simplify the deployment of the Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync unified communications platform.
Lync Express offers the core capabilities needed in any successful Lync deployment, combining Sangoma's Lync-certified NetBorder Express VoIP Gateway (News - Alert) with the Lync services platforms in a single server. Due to this seamless integration, existing telecommunications equipment and networks can increase in performance.
"Businesses are continuously looking to leverage existing systems while enhancing productivity and efficiency with new services, such as those available with Lync," said Julien Nephtali, product manager for Sangoma, in a press release.
She further added, "Sangoma has a long history of connecting the disparate network technologies, protocols, and signaling necessary to easily integrate the all-IP Lync ecosystem with existing TDM- or IP-based PBXs and PSTN connections. The Lync Express appliance is an ideal solution for bridging these different networks and systems in an intuitive and seamless fashion."
Incorporating the Microsoft Windows 2008 server, Microsoft Lync 2010 server and the Sangoma NetBorder Express VoIP gateway, the standalone solution supports sites of up to approximately 100 users. It is also equipped with one E1/T1/J1 compliant digital telephony span for connection to the PSTN and offers four FXS line connections for any legacy emergency phone or fax requirements.
Additionally, the Lync Express allows for simplified management and configuration for all aspects of the Lync deployment.
"Due to the complexity of business communications, unified communications deployments nearly always require integration of TDM- and IP-based components," commented Robert Arnold, program manager, Unified Communications (News - Alert) and Collaboration, with Frost & Sullivan. "Sangoma's approach in combining multiple systems and platforms in a single server should go a long way towards simplifying Lync deployments."
