Mitel Simplifies Appliance Deployment with Mitel Applications Suite 4.0

By Deepika Mala, TMCnet Contributor

Mitel (News - Alert), a provider of appliance deployment solutions, recently released the latest version of its flagship UCC offering, the Mitel Applications Suite 4.0.

Based on the firm's Freedom Architecture, MAS 4.0 is a comprehensive solutions suite that has been designed to deliver a consistently superior user experience and can be up and running in a short amount of time.

This appliance boasts newly developed Web-based collaboration and mobility solutions, which can be accessed via a unique, single application interface. This allows for easy and natural communication and collaboration between colleagues, regardless of their location or device.

In addition, the Web-based collaboration portal offers users a hassle-free collaboration experience without the aggravation of downloading and installing a client application.

Secure instant messaging and dynamic presence on mobile devices is one of the key highlights of MAS 4.0's appliance deployment.  Unified Communicator Advanced Mobile, Mitel’s mobile client software, enables secure instant messaging and real-time presence. This provides employees with greater visibility of their colleagues’ status and allows them to select the most effective way to communicate.

Simplified administration, extended virtualization and increased scalability are some of the other features of MAS 4.0, which are available on the Android and Blackberry clients, with near-term availability on the Apple (News - Alert) iOS client. The UCA Web Portal has also been completely redesigned to yield faster navigation from any device with a Web browser.

The appliance deployment solution can be utilized as software only for deployment on an industry standard server, a virtual appliance for deployment in virtualized environments, or software pre-integrated on a business-class, rack-mounted server.

In related industry news, recently Radisys launched a robust network appliance deployment solution which will allow users to gain access to an extremely flexible design that is based upon the foundation of next-generation technology. To read the full report, click here.
