GigaSpaces (News - Alert) Technologies, a provider of next-generation appliance deployment solutions, has recently launched a new solution for deploying and scaling complex, mission-critical enterprise applications on CA (News - Alert) AppLogic clouds.
The new GigaSpaces Application Platform appliance is developed as part of its active involvement as a partner in the Cloud Commons ecosystem, sponsored by CA Technologies (News - Alert). The XAP software appliance deployment platform can be used for private cloud, hybrid cloud and public clouds.
"Organizations can create a private cloud environment using the CA AppLogic cloud platform, and then leverage GigaSpaces' run-time to on-board their mission critical applications," said Brian Burba, Cloud Ecosystem Solution manager at CA Technologies, in a statement.
"We expect partners like GigaSpaces to continue to find new avenues and opportunities for their services and solutions through our growing Cloud Commons network," Burba added.
The new CA AppLogic appliance deployment platform provides an enterprise-grade stack of cloud-enabled services, such as elastic caching, elastic map/reduce, CloudWatch, SimpleDB and SQS. These services can be used by any application, including those running outside the CA AppLogic environment.
Developers can also move applications from their development environment into the CA AppLogic environment smoothly, reducing the time it takes to roll out new features and to update existing applications, company officials said.
The multi-site replication capabilities enable applications to span multiple CA AppLogic clouds and keep their state continuously synchronized. Businesses can avoid network latency by keeping the application and its data close to the user data center, as well as gain access to disaster recovery processes between sites and effective cloud bursting to maximize the resource utilization among the CA AppLogic sites.
"Organizations have been concerned about moving their distributed, mission-critical apps to the cloud because of their unique challenges, including concerns about security, guaranteed availability and ensured performance levels," said Adi Paz (News - Alert), EVP of Marketing and Business Development at GigaSpaces, in a statement.
"Our platform ensures performance and latency levels through our proven in-memory middleware stack, which comes with tight, enterprise-grade security already in use by mission-critical apps at leading enterprises,” Paz commented. “The entire middleware stack is engineered with built-in redundancy, designed to survive even complete data center failure without any downtime."
