Firmware Update for WHR-HP-G300N and the WHR-HP-GN Released by Buffalo

Buffalo has announced the release of a firmware update for two of its high-power routers – WHR-HP-G300N and the WHR-HP-GN.

Buffalo is a manufacturer of innovative storage, multimedia and wireless networking products for the home and small business. It has been recognized as the worldwide consumer NAS market leader in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. The company is headquartered in Japan and has offices in the UK, France, The Netherlands, USA and Taiwan.


An easy-to-use, versatile and extensive feature-set to a broader wireless networking audience is delivered by DD-WRT.

DD-WRT is a Linux-based alternative open source firmware for wireless routers. It serves millions of users worldwide and enables basic entry level equipment to act like an enterprise product.

The Buffalo’s range of high power routers, with the help of an easy setup wizard of DD-WRT is supported with professional features such as VPN, VLAN, Virtual AP, RADIUS server, hot spot support, volume quotas, iPv6 support, detailed monitoring and a host of other high-end features which deliver a fully guaranteed, out of the box solution.

The firmware is now available to download from the Buffalo Technology website http://www.buffalo-technology.com/support/downloads/
