A new Webinar by NEI featuring an expert panel will offer carriers, service providers and telecom equipment manufacturers insight into crafting the right application deployment strategy.
The Webinar is the final installment of NEI’s three-part series, “ATCA vs. Carrier Grade Rack Mount Servers – The Experts Square Off.”

The session is scheduled for Tues., Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. (Eastern Time) and will be moderated by Erik Linask (News - Alert), group managing editor at TMCnet. It will include industry experts, such as Jeff Hudgins, vice president of marketing, NEI; Sven Freudenfeld, telecom business development, Kontron; Keate Despain, senior director of product line marketing, RadiSys; Brian Carr, strategic marketing manager for embedded computing, Emerson (News - Alert) Network Power; and Austin Hipes, director of field engineering, NEI.
The panel will discuss and debate appropriate application deployment strategies for carriers, service providers and telecom equipment manufacturers.
Each panelist will choose a position and defend it based on their company’s perspective. In addition, Tom Bonds, platform product manager – NEBS servers, Tekelec, will provide a customer perspective on why his team chose a hybrid strategy between ATCA and carrier grade rack mount servers. Audience (News - Alert) members are encouraged to bring their own questions and pose them to the panel.
In today’s market, both ATCA and Carrier Grade Rack Mount Servers are viable application solutions for carriers, service providers and telecom equipment manufacturers, yet crafting a deployment strategy with either option can be a complex decision. The panel will discuss how the move to open-standards platforms for high-performance applications has affected application deployment in the telecommunications space and will offer participants insight into choosing the right application deployment strategy.
