Denver-based NewCloud Networks has partnered with AppAssure by Dell (News - Alert) to provide state-of-the-art backup and disaster recovery (BDR) services to businesses with 5 to500 employees.
The company’s BDR solution is a disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) designed to provide fully managed, cloud-based rapid recovery that “significantly” reduces the impact on a business when disaster strikes.
Mid-sized companies are increasingly adopting DRaaS. According to a Markets and Markets’ report, DRaaS is one of the fastest growing segments in cloud-based environments, as it has a large potential to ensure reliable business continuity.
According to Dell, AppAssure scalable architecture for data protection backs up and manages growing data efficiently to deliver recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs) in minutes.
The NewCloud BDR product features an onsite appliance which backs up the customer’s server(s) at pre-determined intervals. Since the solution is granular enough, company officials explained, it is capable of restoring even a single file or email that has been lost or deleted, accidently.
Company officials said that if there is ever server damage or a crash, the appliance acts as a replacement server. Thanks to this, the restoration of server functionality happens quickly.
The solution’s disaster recovery component comes in the form of a Cloud backup of the appliance at the NewCloud data center. At daily intervals, an image from the backup appliance is transferred over the Internet to the data center located in Denver Tech Center.
“Our data center is SOC 2 Type I compliant, redundant and located in a geographically safe area, making it possible for us to ensure the security and availability of our customers’ data in the event of a catastrophe,” said Sam Kumar (News - Alert), president at NewCloud.
