Currently, Arkeia Software, a provider of network backup solutions, is demonstrating a virtual appliance solution, coined vmOneStep at VMworld which is taking place from August 26-29. This appliance can be deployed on multiple virtual machines on various VMware hypervisors.
Visitors at the vmOneStep virtual appliance demo can participate in a “Download. Deploy. Backup. All in 5 Minutes." contest wherein they can guess how fast the vmOneStep can protect their organization's data using an Arkeia stopwatch and win a Droid-based "i'm Watch" smartwatch.
Touted as the industry's most rapidly deployed backup solution for VMware environments, the vmOneStep virtual appliance can protect a variety of environments and powers truly global deduplication as well as supports direct backup to disk and tape.
"We're inviting guests of VMworld to invest 5 minutes with us to see how they can then quickly and easily backup their VMware infrastructures with a simple one-step deployment of the Arkeia vmOneStep Virtual Appliance," said Bill Evans, Arkeia Software's CEO, in a statement.
"In the time it takes to perform this quick demonstration of our solution, guests will come to better understand why more than 7,000 enterprises in 70 countries have selected Arkeia as their backup solution,” Evans added. “Arkeia provides fast backups and recovery in an easy-to-use and affordable solution for even the most-challenging virtual environments."
All attendees who stop by Arkeia's booth to watch the demo will get an Arkeia stopwatch of their own and a Hershey's Take 5 candy bar for their participation.
Arkeia offers data backup and recovery solutions including the Arkeia Network Backup Suite for mid-sized organizations that require fast, easy-to-use, and affordable data protection. The company's appliance deployment solutions, virtual appliances, and software back up critical data to disk, tape, and cloud storage.
In a related development in the industry, HP has just released a number of updates to products within its Converged Infrastructure Solutions Group. The most notable improvement is the updated HP StoreVirtual Virtual Storage Appliance (VSA), which HP plans to deploy to both SMBs and public cloud providers starting in September.
