Untangle Unveils New uSeries Appliance Deployment Product Line

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Untangle, a provider of network software and appliance deployment solutions, has launched a new uSeries Appliance product line that offers an easy way to complete content filtering, performance management and perimeter security.

The new uSeries Appliances is offered in two packages: the Untangle Standard Package and Premium Package. The u10 and u50 solutions are ideal for small organizations and branch or remote offices, while the u150 and u500 are designed for medium businesses, enterprise divisions and campuses that need a robust1U rack mount device.

The u10 and u50 series feature solid state drives, so they are silent and are suitable for desktop appliance deployment scenarios. The u150 and u500 feature integrated LCD screens with system status information displays.

Untangle provides a new breed of multi-function firewall and Internet management applications optimized for the unique needs of smaller organizations. The company’s proven network software and appliance deployment solutions are installed in over 30,000 organizations.

Untangle’s appliance deployment solutions ensure protection against all forms of viruses, spam, hackers and malware, alongside robust content filtering and application control – all in a unified threat management (UTM) device.

In addition, the company powers high performance enhancement capabilities with its Web Cache, bandwidth control, WAN Balancer and WAN Failover applications. It also includes remote connection capabilities with its IPsec VPN and Captive Portal applications.

Recently, Untangle released the Untangle 9.2 featuring an Application Control feature, the latest addition to its multi-function firewall software, offering more granular control of any unwanted or untrusted applications that could hinder productivity, reduce security, or present compliance violations.

Application Control analyzes the traffic running across the network, accurately identifying hundreds of today’s common applications such as social networking, peer-to-peer, instant messaging, video streaming, file sharing, enterprise applications, Web 2.0 and much more.
