GridIron Systems has revealed that the financial services industry will be adopting its new TurboCharger appliance deployment solution in order to improve service levels and solve Oracle (News - Alert) and SQL-server performance challenges.
TurboCharger has helped firms requiring 24x7x365 access to data to save millions of dollars and boost application performance and customer satisfaction. These enterprises have benefited without the downtime, data migration and configuration changes associated with solid state disk-based (SSD) primary storage arrays.
Financial services companies have adopted the TurboCharger appliance deployment solution to accelerate big data applications, while simultaneously addressing reporting regulations and service level agreements. There are no changes in operational procedures, and existing investments in servers and storage are protected, company officials said in a press release.
These firms have overcome the challenges in meeting tougher data management and reporting requirements mandated by recent financial reforms, through the expansion in data growth that is powered by this deployment solution.
GridIron Systems' TurboCharger appliance deployment solution boosts application performance up to 10 times by providing RAM (News - Alert)-like access speeds to big datasets. This enables financial technology services firms such as COCC to provide dramatically faster access to complex financial information.
"Installing GridIron enabled us to provide significant improvements to the customer experience without any upgrades to our hosting infrastructure," said Mary Sokolowski, Storage Architect at COCC, in a statement.
GridIron enabled COCC to rework its hardware deployment strategy, resulting in a reduction of $500,000 in software license expenses. Other firms in the financial services sector reported saving between $1 million and $3.5 million by choosing the GridIron solution.
"In order to stay competitive, financial services companies must provide reliable, non-stop service in the face of increased regulatory mandates and the need to efficiently process enormous volumes of data," said Ed McCann, vice president of Sales at solution provider company ConRes. ConRes introduced the GridIron solution to COCC.
