Appliance Deployment Optimized with NEI

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Appliance deployment can be a challenge for any developer or technology provider as trends in the industry are constantly changing, deployment methods are expanding and new technologies are complicating the mix. Time to market is still a leading indicator for differentiation and these providers often struggle to gain that competitive edge. When partnering with an appliance deployment provider like NEI (News - Alert), many of these challenges can easily be overcome.

With the variety of product lifecycle management solutions technology providers can bring to the applications market, the opportunity to streamline the approach and maximize core competencies can be captured. The challenge that is the climate today for appliance deployment within telecom, security and storage solutions requires a mix of physical, virtual and cloud deployment options to increase revenue and maximize utilization.

To truly leverage the opportunities in appliance deployment, it is critical that the deployment solution design is optimized across all deployment models. Providers still want to maintain full control over the lifecycle, while also meeting design performance and cost goals. This NEI blog highlights the challenges, as well as the opportunities that can exist in appliance deployment when the right partnerships are in place.

The blog features a video with NEI Vice President of Marketing, Jeff Hudgins (News - Alert). In the video, Hudgins explains that technology providers have a variety of ways to bring their products to market. Physical, virtual and cloud deployment strategies are all opportunities to increase revenue and design solutions that should be leveraged across all of these platforms.

This can be challenging for the provider when faced with different requirements and the validation of third party hardware or software in the application. Providers must not only meet design performance and cost expectations; they must also maintain full lifecycle control. This is not an easy task to accomplish alone and providers need a partner with the right technical expertise to assist in the appliance deployment process.

NEI offers a comprehensive approach to solution design and lifecycle management that delivers predictable and repeatable results within appliance deployment. The NEI team will translate requirements, and build best-fit solutions with the highest level of performance, whether it is a small robust enterprise security appliance, or a large frame of communications equipment.

Throughout the process, NEI considers the complete solution lifecycle, including long life components, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The company has established best-in-class technology partnerships and drives forward-looking roadmaps for technology provider’s appliance deployment designs.

NEI offers a broad range of expertise in hardware appliances, ATCA and frame designs. If a strategy includes virtual or cloud deployments, NEI can create a single software image based on Windows or Linux that is fully optimized for scalability and performance.

NEI’s 5-Point LEAD System is designed to solve all of the challenges in getting a solution to market and securing appliance deployment. As a result, NEI clients can design solutions faster, better, and with far greater efficiency, all while staying focused on their core competencies.

Interested OEMS and ISVS are eligible for a free 5-point LEAD assessment of their current deployment strategies to see where NEI can help reduce costs and better utilize resources for an improved time to market. The expert consultation is available now through the NEI website.
