Grandstream Networks Interoperable with Quantum Voice's VoIP Network

By Tim Gray, TMCnet Web Editor

Grandstream Networks (News - Alert), a manufacturer of high quality IP PBXs, SIP trunking gateways and IP voice and video solutions for the worldwide VoIP SMB market, has achieved full interoperability with Quantum Voice’s VoIP network.

The two companies have also teamed efforts to create a one button provisioning protocol to easily provision edge CPE devices onto Quantum Voice’s targeted VoIP network. The collaboration is expected to help meet the needs of the SMB looking for ease-of-use, high quality and affordability from their IP-PBX (News - Alert) and network, according to David Li, CEO of Grandstream Networks.

“Quantum Voice’s strong telecommunications presence combined with the advanced capabilities of our GXE502x IPPBX is a powerful turnkey solution for the SMB,” said Li. “We look forward to continue working closely with Quantum Voice to ensure an unprecedented user experience and value proposition for SMB.”

The collaboration will also to provide the SMB with a solution that eliminates pain points that have hindered VoIP proliferation. Such points include unpredictable capital and operational costs, complicated set-up and administration, and overall unreliability from the IP-PBX and network, Li said.

Quantum Voice will offer 500 free minutes on their network for customers who purchase the GXE502x coupled with their services.

Ben Carrasco, CEO at Quantumvoice, says the pairing of hardware and the Quantum Voice network will tackle the problems of unpredictable capital costs and unreliability.

“From our inception, we drew a line in the sand by avoiding solutions that that failed to offer robust feature sets or did not reasonably adhere to industry standards. This often meant that we were at odds with manufacturers,” said Carrasco.

The move also rids the SMB of the complicated set-up and administration involved in IP-PBX installation and deployment with one-button provisioning by tying the network and hardware together for seamless integration, according to Carrasco. With one-button provisioning Grand stream’s GXE502x and Quantum Voice’s SIP Trunks are tightly coupled to allow near out-of-box provisioning for the SMB, thus eliminating the taxing administration and set-up time often experienced in the field.

Grandstream’s network elements will provide the end-user with an easy to-use interface with a single “1-button” request for Quantum Voice’s VoIP services. Through this one button “push” the end-user will be able to instantly provision a complex network element onto Quantum Voice’s targeted network.

“However, something quite unexpected happened during our lab tests of the GXE502x, in the 20 or so minutes that it took us to provision and begin using it, we suddenly realized that Grandstream shares the same no-nonsense philosophy and thought we would celebrate it by offering a promotion to all GXE502x customers that will allow them to take full advantage of its capabilities,” said Carrasco.
