Metaswitch Networks, a provider of carrier systems and communications software, today announced the appointment of two industry veterans to its team.
Stefan Knight has been named to the new post of vice president of strategic alliances and Steve Gleave will lead as vice president of marketing, both in the company’s carrier systems division.
Metaswitch Networks said the appointments of Knight and Gleave underscore its accelerated growth path and strengthen the ongoing global market development capabilities of its carrier systems business.
Knight, formerly of Ericsson (News - Alert), is responsible for developing new alliances and maintaining partnerships that will deliver ongoing innovation, multi-vendor solutions and long-term value for customers. Prior to Ericsson, Knight led product management, marketing and business development teams at Virata, CopperCom and Entrisphere.
Gleave, in turn, will act as the principal marketing liaison for the Carrier Systems Division. In this position, he will bring greater focus to expanding Metaswitch’s complete portfolio. Gleave, who possesses more than 20 years of marketing experience working with high-growth companies in the network technology sector, held marketing roles at Endace, SS8 (News - Alert) Networks, Ubiquity Software and Jetstream Communications.
Andrew Randall, who previously held the role now occupied by Gleave, continues as a key member of the executive team, moving into a corporate-level position as senior vice president for marketing and business development.
“Metaswitch has, with little fanfare, built a position as a worldwide leader in carrier VoIP solutions over the last 9 years, based on its demonstrated commitment to engineering quality, reliability, exceptional support and innovation,” said Gleave in a press statement. “It is my job to get word out about that success, accelerate the company’s growth and ultimately enable the creation of the industry’s next major global player.”
