Metaswitch Networks, a provider of the technologies and solutions that enable the migration of communications networks to open, next-generation architectures, released its unaudited annual results for the financial year 2009-2010 to Aug. 31.

Revenues have grown, marking a 33 percent from $113 million to $134.5 million. The pro-forma EBITDA margins have sustained at 20 percent, according to company sources.

The company recorded strong customer growth in both North American market and several key international markets during the year. The year is also marked by the acquisition and integration of AppTrigger, leading to the addition of the Metaswitch Service Broker product line.

According to the company officials Metaswitch Networks has demonstrated strong growth within each carrier segment with the fastest-growing areas being tier-one incumbents, major cable operators, and international markets.

During the period, the company added more than 65 new carrier customers and expanded to Latin America through customer wins with Telecom Argentina and Cooperativa Mariano Moreno.

The company continues to show strength in regional markets, as proved by the deployments with TDS Telecom, SureWest (News - Alert) Communications, and Cincinnati Bell. The appointment of Kevin DeNuccio as CEO of Metaswitch Networks is one of the corporate highlights noted during the assessment period.  

The company also won the 2010 Queen's Award for Enterprise for continuous innovation and development, and gained commercial success of the MetaSphere application server.

Another highlight was the full integration of the company's first acquisition into the Metaswitch organization.

Technology Highlights included widespread participation in the Metaswitch Innovators Community with over 1,250 active members as well as the delivery of the industry's first portable protocol solution for signaling and routing in G.709 Optical Transport Networks or “OTN.”

“Over the next 12 to 18 months, we'll continue our focus on expanding our footprint into new international markets and bringing innovative new products to market as the trusted architects of next-generation voice networks,” DeNuccio added.
