911 Enable's Best-in-Class E911 Solutions Now Available Through GSA

By Hans Lewis, TMCnet Contributor

911 Enable claimed that its award-winning products and services may now be purchased through the General Services Administration (GSA (News - Alert)) Multiple Award Schedules (MAS) program by US federal government agencies and other approved users. 911 Enable's key products available through the GSA program include the Emergency Gateway (News - Alert)  (EGW) and Desk Alert.

"911 Enable is excited to have been awarded a GSA MAS contract," said Lev Deich, director of 911 Enable, in a press release. "Through the GSA program, government agencies and other approved purchasers will benefit from the ability to obtain our best-in-class E911 solutions through a simplified procurement process."

The EGW is an on-site appliance that automatically tracks IP phone moves/adds/changes for E911 purposes, and instantly notifies security guards whenever 911 is dialed within the organization. It helps organizations simplify E911 management and meet the requirements of their state and local E911 legislation. The EGW integrates with a wide range of IP-PBX systems, including those from Cisco, Avaya, Microsoft (News - Alert), Aastra, and ShoreTel.

Desk Alert is an application that is installed on the security desk workstation and works in conjunction with the EGW to notify on-site security personnel when an emergency call is placed within the organization. When 911 is dialed, a screen pop instantly appears on the security desk monitor and provides personnel with the caller's name, callback number, and precise location information.

The GSA program offers federal government agencies and other approved users many ways to purchase what they need, through long-term government-wide contracts with commercial firms.

911 Enable (News - Alert), a division of Connexon Telecom Inc., is the industry-leading provider of E911 solutions for IP telephony systems, having deployed its solutions in organizations of all sizes across the US and Canada, including Fortune 500 companies. 911 Enable offers the widest E911 coverage in the industry and leverages this connectivity to bring breakthrough location management technologies to the IP telephony market.
