MicroAutomation Expands International Presence with E9-1-1 System

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

MicroAutomation, a systems integrator of call center automation solutions, is completing the first phase of a nationwide 911 project for Jordan, a country located in Southwest Asia.

This initiative is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State to enhance the emergency preparedness of our allies in this particular region.

“MicroAutomation (News - Alert) is very proud and excited to be a part of this important project,” said Suresh Gursahaney, president and CEO of MicroAutomation, in a statement.

Gursahaney said that the company is honored to have a significant role in supporting the security efforts of our partner to further enhance public safety on an international basis.

Officials with MicroAutomation said that the company is working with one of its largest international partners, Intergraph Public Safety, to establish a state-of-the-art Enhanced 9-1-1 (E9-1-1) emergency system that will allow residents needing emergency services to reach the most appropriate Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP).

Company officials said that the system will display the caller’s location and subscriber information to the PSAP call-taker, enabling a quick response to the emergency. According to company officials, MicroAutomation’s role in the project is to apply state-of-the-art call handling technologies and integrate them with the public safety technologies being provided by Intergraph Public Safety. These are then integrated into a new, nationwide E9-1-1 emergency telephone system.

The security technology, company officials said, includes management solutions that support emergency response agencies throughout the country as well as provide command and control-level viewing during multi-agency and multi-incident emergencies.

It also features advanced geospatial and automated vehicle location capabilities to enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies.

Company officials pointed out that this project is part of a comprehensive homeland security initiative to aid in responding to regional and worldwide terrorism threats and other security challenges.
