Consumer notebook vendor ASUS has picked Boston-Power’s Sonata lithium-ion battery platform for its new line of commercial notebook PCs – the B Series models.

The new B Series model notebooks from ASUS are expected to be shipped this month and they come packed with new technologies, a complete set of business features and best-in-class warranties for demanding business users and these notebooks are capable of offering efficiency, reliability and security along with excellent durability.

Boston-Power has claimed that its lithium-ion battery technology platform is based on a design that emphasizes a whole system approach capable of powering end applications ranging from portable consumer electronics to electric vehicles and next-generation utility energy storage. The battery technology platform is based on a flat, oval-shaped prismatic cell design with external dimensions equivalent to two conventional 18650 lithium-ion cells.
