Volantis (News - Alert) has launched a new version of BuzzCast that enables more dynamic and immediate information access for consumers using mobile devices.

 

Launched late last year, BuzzCast, Volantis’ newest mobile content application pushes compelling information, such as financial news, sports and entertainment headlines, to any device — regardless of network or device type — personalized according to the unique preferences of each subscriber.

 

Version 1.1 ensures that mobile data is easy to access and visually appealing. The information can now be displayed directly on the phone as a personalized home screen for each subscriber.

 

The company points out that enabling information to be pre-selected and constantly updated on any device results in reduction of the time and click-throughs that consumers traditionally face in accessing information via their mobile devices.

 

Thanks to BuzzCast consumers can shift their mobile data habits from the offline and passive review of pushed information to an environment of actively engaging with online value added services. Leveraging this change, consumers can more easily and intuitively interact with information displayed on their phone.

 

“BuzzCast 1.1 addresses many of the interests carriers have in further broadening the subscriber base for consumers,” said Mark Watson, chief executive officer of Volantis in a statement to the press.

Volantis’ newest release enhances the utility of the application with the introduction of SMS notification of content preferences, content-specific advertising support, increased scaling to accommodate higher subscriber numbers, and an updated charging mechanism that permits external charging mechanisms to be used as part of the BuzzCast subscription process.
