By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor

Panasonic (News - Alert) Enterprise Solutions Company recently upgraded the Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Calif. with its latest Panasonic display technologies to further enhance the fan experience.

The Los Angeles Angels had captured their third straight American League Western division title with more than just impressive performance on the field. Panasonic’s team of experienced engineers and solution consultants had worked with Angels’ executive and facility management to devise an upgrade plan to implement and deliver a new audio visual experience.

Most of the installations took place during the 2009 season without disrupting to fans viewing enjoyment. Totally 350 Panasonic HD plasma and LCD displays were installed to provide fans with amazing views of games as well as promotional messaging throughout the ballpark. A state-of-the-art 20mm large screen LED board, measuring 35 feet by 47 feet has also been included in the display system to deliver breathtaking images on the team’s symbolic Big A message board which is placed adjacent to the 57 Freeway that has an annual traffic count of over 84 million cars that pass by.

Panasonic is a pioneer in technology innovation related to entertainment and sports venues, including state-of-the-art products in ways that make them integral to daily life. The Panasonic experience claims to be a part of the adventure for millions of people around the world as exemplified by recent technology installations at the Beijing Olympic Games, Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, New York City’s Times Square, Princess Cruises and the most recent being the technology partnerships with Major League Soccer’s Red Bulls New York and the Philadelphia 2010 project. In addition to all this Panasonic is the technology provider for AEG’s entertainment and sports complexes around the world including the award winning L.A. LIVE which includes STAPLES Center and Nokia (News - Alert) Theatre in Los Angeles.

Jim Doyle, president of Panasonic Enterprise Solutions Company, said that baseball was one of the most advanced sports wherein latest technologies are applied to involve more fan participation and appeal to the sport’s immense international audiences. The Angels organization sets a great example of further enhancing the fan experience throughout Angel Stadium with the latest advances in display technology. When fans attend Angels’ games, they will be entertained by an impactful video experience that is powered by Panasonic.

Dennis Kuhl, chairman of Angels Baseball, LP, commented that Panasonic had a reputation for performance, quality and value that is well known with consumers. The need to provide their fans with display systems that live up to the same high expectations that they have when viewing HDTV in their homes made Panasonic to be their natural choice while upgrading display systems as it was the leader in HDTV systems technology.
