Mobile phone manufacturer Samsung ( News - Alert) Electronics, Ltd. and European design firm Jasper Morrison have teamed up to create a new handset: the SGH-E590. This new phone is geared toward users looking for both advanced, multimedia features and an eye-catching design.
On the design side, E590 boasts simple contours and clean lines. A dual-face layout presents phone keypad and LCD screen on one side, and camera functions on the other.
On the features side, E590 boasts a 3.2 megapixel camera with half-shutter and panorama features, plus a portable tripod accessory made of a special, rubberized material for flexibility and grip. Other features include Bluetooth  2.0, USB 2.0 voice streaming, messaging, video recording, and memory card slot.
“The SGH-E590 is a very pragmatic work of art that reflects the synergy between Samsung and Jasper Morrison,” said Geesung Choi, president of Samsung’s telecommunication network business, in a statement. “We have teamed up to satisfy our users with high-performance technology and emotional design,.
Choi added: “Through the partnership with renowned designers, Samsung will strengthen our design power to bring design excellence to our customers.”
The Samsung E590 is available in two colors: noble black and snow silver. It reportedly will be available in Europe, China and Southeast Asia this month. A price has not yet been announced.
