IOGEAR Unveils Solar Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

IOGEAR, a company offering innovative consumer electronics and IT solution, has reportedly introduced a solar Bluetooth hands-free car kit called, ‘GBHFK231,’ which lets consumers talk hands-free and charge cord-free.

This road-companion lets drivers wirelessly place and receive calls on their Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone while keeping their eyes on the road and hands on the steering wheel. The kit's integrated solar panel harnesses the solar energy to help it recharge on the go. The Bluetooth hands-free car kit is compliant with Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR specification and supports headset and hands-free profiles.

The car kit includes solar-powered Bluetooth speakerphone, windshield, visor mounting bracket, Micro-USB cable and vehicle charging adapter with superior echo cancellation and noise reduction. It also comes with a multi-point connection helping users to switch between two phones and answer the phone that rings. Users can easily use this device for 11 to 13 hours of continuous talk time on one full charge.

"People often forget to charge their car kit and are left fumbling with cords while driving in order to recharge the kit and stay connected without breaking the hands free law in several states," Miranda Su, executive vice president of IOGEAR, said. "Our Solar Bluetooth Car Kit works with any Bluetooth-enabled device and harnesses solar energy to keep it charged on-the-go."

Headquartered in Irvine, Calif. IOGEAR is said to be environmentally-conscious and emphasizes conserving natural resources to employees and customers through its GREEN initiatives.

In addition, IOGEAR has partnered with Trees for the Future to plant one tree for every product purchased on its Web site or by members of its GREEN initiative partner program. The company’s broad range of products helps integrate technologies in everyday life, share resources, decrease clutter and energy consumption, and reduce electronic waste.
