Kinesis Launches Wind-and-Solar-Powered Electronics Charger

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Kinesis Industries LLC has launched a new green product, the “K3” – a compact wind-and-solar-powered generator about the size of a flashlight that allows users to recharge their iPod, cell phone, MP3, PDA, or other electronic devices using solar and wind power.

Outdoors, indoors, domestically or internationally, the K3 is designed to work in any environment, according to the company.

“The K3 allows anyone to charge their devices at anytime, anywhere in the world,” said Tod Wagenhals, president of Kinesis.

Wagenhals said that by using the K3, people are literally generating their own power and reducing their carbon footprint.

Officials claimed that the K3 has the largest rechargeable battery capacity of its competitors, meaning that it is ready to use over and over again. It’s a “tribrid” device, meaning it can be charged by wind, sun or electricity from an AC wall outlet. The device is ideal for travel as it will work anywhere and in any country. K3 users do not have to be concerned about access to power sources.

According to the company officials, a fully charged K3 can charge a mobile phone over five times and an iPod/MP3 player over 10 times. Just one hour of sun and wind provides 30 minutes of talk time and over 300 minutes of MP3 music.

The performance figures, however can vary based on different mobile phone models and iPod/MP3 player models, as well as sunlight intensity and wind speed consistency.

Kinesis Industries LLC was established to develop, manufacture and distribute micro-generation renewable energy products to consumers worldwide.

The company’s mission is to develop a wide range of products, such as the K3.
