VoiceSignal’s VSuite solution reportedly shipped on 142 handset models for sale in 2006. VoiceSignal’s hands-free/eyes-free voice dialing with text-to-speech confirmation was featured in all these models. The company’s VoiceMode solution for SMS and e-mail dictation was also featured in many of these handset models.

The VSuite-enabled handsets are sold worldwide by major global handset manufacturers, such as Motorola, Samsung (News - Alert), Nokia, Research in Motion and Palm. VSuite is available in 21 languages.

VoiceSignal’s embedded speech products also include VoiceMode, VSpeak, and the recently announced VSearch, a free-to-the-user voice-powered mobile search solution.

According to VoiceSignal CEO Rich Geruson, the rapid rise in the number of speech-enabled handsets worldwide demonstrates increased user demand for a simple, safe, and convenient way to interact with mobile phones.

“VoiceSignal’s most recent product introductions - VoiceMode for mobile dictation, VSpeak for message reading, and VSearch for free-to-the-user voice-powered mobile search - will only add to the momentum we have experienced in the past several years,” said Geruson in a press release.

VoiceSignal made news last month when INFONXX (News - Alert), a provider of directory enquiry and enhanced information services, and VoiceSignal announced “VSearch”, an embedded handset-server application that offers to carriers the choice of automated voice enabled directory enquiries and local search by either specific listing or category keywords.

While VoiceSignal will provide the speech recognition and application software, INFONXX will provide content and search support.
