VoIP service provider Vonage ( News - Alert) Canada announced that it has partnered with Motorola Canada to now offer the Motorola VT2142 phone adapter and router. The device comes already configured with the Vonage phone service, so Vonage subscribers can use it to connect their PCs to a high-speed Internet connection to access computing and phone services.
“Vonage is constantly striving to help provide consumers with innovative quality products for their telephone needs,” commented Bruce Robertson, director, product and market development, Vonage Canada, in a statement.” In addition to taking advantage of Vonage’s flat rate monthly phone plans, with the Motorola ( News - Alert) VT2142 phone adapter and router, customers will be able to download and share computer files, videos or MP3s fast and easy.
The VT2142 can be used to connect up to two Vonage lines through a high-speed connection and includes a networking router. The device is currently available online for free after an $89.99 instant rebate.
Today’s news comes on the heels of Vonage Canada’s recent announcement about it teaming with Wal-Mart Canada to sell its Internet phone service in its more than 100 retail stores in that country. This launch at the Canadian Wal-Mart stores follows the service being available in Canadian Best Buys, Future Shops, The Source by Circuit Citys and Staples Business Depots. The service is also available in approximately 1,300 retail outlets across Canada.
