Doro Signs Distribution Agreement with Tech Data France

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Doro, a company that develops, markets and sells a wide range of electronic products, said it signed a distribution agreement with Tech Data, a distributor of IT products in Europe, to sell and market its Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephones and headsets in France.

The agreement with Tech Data in France applies to Doro’s (News - Alert) VoIP and other Business Electronics' products, which are communication products designed for the business sector. Tech Data specializes in IT products from software and hardware suppliers and is represented in 100 countries.

Tech Data (News - Alert) has been specializing in IT and telecom products. The company has got a chain of more than 90,000 retailers spread across 100 countries. As per the agreement, Tech Data will sell and market about 25 products through its distribution channels in France.

“The collaboration with Tech Data is a strategically important step in the continued development of our Business Electronics business unit in France, one of our prioritized markets,” said Jerome Arnaud (News - Alert), CEO at Doro, in a statement.

According to Sylvie Afonso, product manager at Tech Data, the distribution agreement allows them to complement their offer with new, exciting, quality products. “These are good value, good looking and not least of all simple to use products, which many of our customers are looking for.”

Doro develops electronic products in three business units: Home Electronics, Business Electronics and Care Electronics.

Doro reported a 25.3 percent increase in its sales in Q3 compared to the same period last year. The improved sales were particularly due to strong growth that continued in the Care business unit.

According to Jérôme Arnaud, Doro’s CEO, the growth in Care Electronics is offsetting the decline in other activities in Home and Business Electronics, a decline that has been lower than in previous quarters. “However, the outlook for fourth quarter is uncertain due to financial crisis and the rapid strengthening of the U.S. dollar,” he continued. “The negative currency effect will be partly offset by a hedge contract.”
