VDC Display Systems Unveils Sony GH10 HD projector

By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributing Editor

The Sony GH10 HD projector, unveiled by VDC Display Systems, reportedly has been specially designed for Simulation applications.

VDC designs, develops and manufactures solutions for display requirements for military, medical and industrial uses with emphasis on high-end training and simulation applications.

In addition to the GH10 projectors, VDC offers Simulation Specific Lenses, Projector Control Software, Projector and Lens Support Frames, Optical Edge Blending, Warping Software, Electronic Edge Blending Software, 24 / 7 Support and, if required, Installation Services.

Sony says it designed this new model for the simulation, training and industrial visualization markets. Even though the projector is a High Definition model, it wouldn’t be suitable for use as a home theater system, according to officials.

The projector, pictured right, was developed with the help of input from VDC and incorporates Sony’s own Motionflow high frame rate technology to identify and remove blurry images from fast motion content and provide users with accurate image info that is required by specialized industry standards.

According to VDC Display Systems VP Business Development David Rushton, the company is “very excited” about the introduction of the Sony GH10 projector and looks forward to providing this superior product to all Military and Commercial customers in the Simulation Industry.

“VDC will be demonstrating two Sony GH10 projectors integrated with a two channel ThalesView PC IG and a new Auto Calibration system with the scene displayed on a spherical screen,” Rushton said.

According to Sony officials, the projector combines full high-definition resolution and contrast ratios with this built-in smear reduction capability that will allow it to provide highly accurate visual cues. These technologies will allow the creation of more realistic simulations and training imagery, enhancing the effectiveness of simulation and training programs.
