LG Electronics (News - Alert) recently announced the launch of its newest PRADA mobile handset, the second such device designed in partnership with the PRADA Group. It is slated for release later this year.

 

LG Electronics is a provider of consumer electronics, mobile communications and home appliances. It has a global presence, with 82 subsidiaries around the world. The company’s products range from washing machines and air conditioners to mobile handsets and home theatre systems.

 

Popular in the luxurious goods market, the PRADA Group sells products under a variety of brands, including Prada, Miu Miu, Church's and Car Shoe. It is known for high-quality products like leather goods and accessories, eyewear, and fragrances. PRADA has more than 200 stores around the world.

 

Very similar to the first model, the new PRADA handset by LG is also a full touch-screen phone. What adds to the uniqueness of this handset is its ultra-thin keyboard which effortlessly slides down from the under the handset in smooth movement. It gets an edge over other sliding phones not only because of its narrow sleek frame but also because it has been contemporarily styled.

 

While the first PRADA handset sold more than one million units worldwide, and was much in demand among fashion-conscious users, this second model is expected to be even more popular because of its advanced features.  the second model is expected to cross that mark with its features.

 

The new PRADA phone includes a QWERTY keyboard, 3G and video-calling capabilities, and a 5 megapixel camera, and WiFi (News - Alert) connectivity. Also included is a full HTML browser and 7.2 Mbps HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) capabilities.

 

When it goes on sale, the new PRADA phone will be priced at €600 (about $816).
