ZAGG Inc., a company that makes film coverings for personal electronics, reportedly has announced that invisibleSHIELD, a protective film covering, designed for iPods, laptops and mobile phones, is now available for the BlackBerry ( News - Alert) Bold.
ZAGG uses its exclusively patented film to manufacture the invisibleSHIELD, which helps the consumers protect their high-performance electronic devices, such as mobile phones, PDAs, gaming devices and laptops.
An exclusive, ultra-tough patented film originally designed for the U.S. military to protect helicopter blades from wind, sand and the wear and tear of high-speed travel, is now being deployed by the company to integrate military-grade scratch protection with precision-cut designs for making the invisibleSHIELD.
The ultra-thin film used in making the invisibleSHIELD is 0.2-millimeters thick and doesn’t add bulk to the device, so that users can easily slip it into everything from charging docks to pockets.
ZAGG deploys Nano-memory technology to a very subtle texture in the surface of the film, which helps create precise, custom designs that fit according to the curves of electronic devices, and also resists damage and scratches.
ZAGG provides the product with a lifetime replacement warranty, meaning consumers only need to buy once, and if the invisibleSHIELD ever becomes damaged, the company will replace it for the life of the device. The customers can register their ZAGG warranty card online, by fax or by mail.
Robert G. Pedersen II, president and chief executive officer of ZAGG, said that BlackBerry devices have become vitally important business tools for many people, and as such, they need the best possible protection to maintain their appeal and appearance.
Pederson said that historically, BlackBerry has led the smartphone industry, although sales of the new Apple iPhone ( News - Alert) 3G are increasing rapidly.
Pederson added that ZAGG is excited to offer the invisibleSHIELD for RIM’s BlackBerry Bold, which assures the consumers of a real, original, premier scratch-proof protection, and continues to be the top protective accessory for both BlackBerry and iPhone, so whichever device they have, they can find an invisibleSHIELD to cover it.
