This rise has resulted in broken sales records, company officials say.

Tektronix ( News - Alert) is a supplier of test, measurement, and monitoring products, solutions and services for the communications, computer, and semiconductor industries as well as military/aerospace, consumer electronics and education.
According to the company, the WFM4000 and WFM5000 waveform monitors and WVR4000 and WVR5000 rasterizers offer efficient and effective monitoring of video and audio content, the best price and performance in the industry and leading ease of use.
“We are extremely pleased with the market response to our new 4000 and 5000 Series rasterizers and portable waveform monitors,” said Arif Kareem, vice president and general manager of the video product line at Tektronix. “Customers have been telling us that they need Tektronix video and audio monitoring quality and capability in an affordable and portable package. Sales in the six months since introduction have proven this and far exceeded our expectation. This family has seen the fastest adoption of any of our waveform monitors and rasterizers over the comparable period.”
The monitors can provide broadcast operators with options to conveniently verify and adjust video and audio content from multiple signal sources.
The WFM4000 supports standard-definition TV format while WFM5000 comes with support for both standard and high definition.
The company says that the new TandemVu Display capability has been incorporated into these monitors through which they acquire the ability for waveform and vector displays and waveform and lightning displays to be overlaid and positioned flexibly in full screen mode.
The new display technology allows magnification of each trace individually based on specific user preferences. The resulting display is akin to having two tiles in full screen size overlaid plus a thumbnail picture display as required. And, officials say, the WFM5000/WVR5000 with TandemVu enables broadcast operators to personalize the screen display based on individual application needs.
The new 4000 SD Series and 5000 SD/HD Series models are available for order. U.S. MSRP begins at $5,150 for the WVR4000 and range up to $6,900 for the WFM5000. The TandemVu Display is available as a software download, without charge to existing customers.
