Latino music lovers were served some good news recently when Apple introduced iTunes Latino, an exclusive section within the US iTunes Store dedicated to key Latin music, music videos, television shows, audiobooks and podcasts. With the new service, music fans can enjoy Latin and international music tracks, some of which are available only on iTunes.
“We’re thrilled to offer customers their favorite Latin music and video programming with iTunes Latino,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of iTunes in a news release. “Latin music has been a huge hit on iTunes and now we’re bringing music fans even more of what they love in a dedicated area on the iTunes Store.”
According to the release, the iTunes Latino area on the iTunes Store features music of various genres including, Regional Mexicano, Rock Alternativo, Baladas y Boleros, Pop Latino, Reggaeton and Hip-Hop.
iTunes Latino comes with albums and tracks from top Latino artists such as David Bisbal, Daddy Yankee, Aterciopelados, Marco Antonio Solis, Paulina Rubio, Mana, Cafe Tacuba and Luny Tunes y Tainy. In addition, fans are able to download music videos from Juanes, Mach & Daddy and Luis Fonsi.
Spanish audiobooks and podcasts as well as popular TV shows from Telemundo such as, “Pasion de Gavilanes” and “‘El Cuerpo del Deseo” are also available at iTunes Latino.
The iTunes Store presently showcases more than 3.5 million songs, 65,000 podcasts, 20,000 audiobooks, over 5,000 music videos and 250 television shows.
