By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Samsung (News - Alert) Electronics America, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Corporation, has launched the CX Series of professional large format displays at Infocomm 2008. This series has been created for those environments where form and function are required. This series has features such as digital tuner, HDMI, integrated speakers with integrated network PCs which allow easy content management.

According to Christopher Franey, vice president of commercial sales and marketing at Samsung Electronics America, “The CX Series is ideal for businesses where you need a professional TV product that exceeds expectations in form and function. Introducing new features such as the addition of a built-in tuner, with design and functionality and high-quality performance combined with the built-in PC, is another example of Samsung’s commitment to growth, innovation, development and success within the digital signage industry.”

The CX Series displays offer both horizontal and vertical mounting and are compatible with industry standard VESA wall mounting hardware. These also contain anti burn-in and anti image-retention circuits that minimize the possibility of static images that damage the unit. Ability to display over-the-air programming and run localized content at the same time is present in the series.

The CX Series includes a built-in PC that enables WAN connectivity along with MagicInfo capabilities. MagicInfo supports multiple content servers, automatic program updation by server, system performance monitoring and remote content management. MagicInfo Pro also supports 1920 x 1080 HD content. The series also allows a single remote computer to control up to 25 displays for efficient distribution of information and has a high-gloss shiny finish. The built-in 10-watt speakers bring precise sounds to nearby users, thus eliminating the need for separate speakers.

Heavy-duty power supply, advanced cooling technologies, dust build-up prevention techniques for cooler operating temperatures and longer component life, advanced shielding for eliminating interference from electromagnetic devices are the other major features of the CX Series. Security lock-out features of the series help eliminate interference from retail customers. This series large format displays have a three-year limited warranty on labor and parts, including the backlight. Toll-free technical support for the life of the display is also available.
